I usually do some sort of meditation at night before bedtime, but after my homework. It helps me rid my mind and body of the the stressor's that came along with that day and helps me fall asleep easier. In the past ive always had a hard time releasing my bad vibes and energies at bedtime or even just my thoughts that conquer my brain. It has helped me release tension and thoughts that boggle my mind, body and spirit. It has also shown me that i can be at peace with myself and to just let things go that i have no control over.
"One can not lead another where one has not gone himself" means to me that a healthcare professional has to show his patients that he truly believes and represent in his work. The healthcare professional needs to show passion in his work. Also, he needs to practice it as well because how can he teach and show his patients the results with nothing to go by, except what he read in a book. I had this roommate who once told me that she once had a parenting coach that had no children. She had a hard time with this because she felt that her parenting coach really didn't know if the "solution" worked, it was just a simple text explanation. So in other words, i feel that if i, as a Health and Wellness Educator, practice what i teach i will have a closer relationship with my patients and they will know that they can trust me and know that the results will be real.
Thanks for reading, Alicia
Alicia, excellent point about the parenting coach with no children. How can I take advice from someone who doesn't know what it's like to want to hit someone with a clown hammer? Well that's how I feel anyway :) Good post.
